Setting your smart thermostat schedule will help us understand how you like to keep your home. Do you like it a little warmer in the morning? A little cooler at night? Adjust your schedule to reflect these preferences, and we'll do the rest. You can even set the maximum and minimum temperatures on your smart thermostat to ensure you always remain comfortable.

Yes! Customers on TOU rates are encouraged to join the program. On days when a Peak Time Savings event is called, we reduce your electric consumption during hours where overall energy use is high, which typically align with TOU rate peak periods when electricity is more expensive.

A vacation home may participate in the program, however the home may be much hotter than you anticipate during a Peak Time Savings event. Because the temperature comfort band during an event is based on average thermostat schedules over a period of time, so if your schedule is typically set to a higher away temperature the comfort band will be higher. Pre-cooling before an event may also operate your air conditioning more than you would on your away settings or energy savings schedule.

Yes you may, however your experience will differ due to smart thermostat adjustments varying somewhat by manufacturer, including pre-conditioning, during an event, which may affect your comfort . We recommend that each participant use the same smart thermostat manufacturer throughout the home for the best overall experience.

Peak Time Savings Events

The hottest days create heavy demand on the energy grid. On these days of increased need, the energy system may become strained, and getting energy to everyone who needs it can become inefficient and expensive. The Peak Time Savings Program empowers our customers to voluntarily assist with keeping energy service reliable and affordable for the whole community by reducing energy use when demand is highest.

Events can occur at any time of year, but typically occur in the hotter summer and colder winter months. For customers without electric heat, events will occur only in the Summer months of May through September.

Typically, events are called in the late afternoon. Up to 20 events can be called each year. Peak Time Savings Program events can last up to four hours.

Events will not occur on weekends or holidays, except in the event of a system emergency. Additionally, you may choose to opt out of an event if it impacts your plans or comfort.

The program will send an email to you let you know that an event is planned, usually the day before the event is scheduled. In an emergency, you may be notified no less than 6 hours before the event begins. The program will also send an email letting you know when an event is beginning and ending. During an event, you'll see a notification on your thermostat and in your mobile app.

You are always in control of your thermostat. The Peak Time Savings Program takes into consideration your comfort preferences and will always operate within a comfort band based on your thermostat settings to make sure you and your family stay comfortable throughout the event.

Ameren Missouri reserves the right to remove participants from the Peak Time Savings Program or limit eligibility for annual $25 incentives for participants who opt out of three or more events per year.

Seasonal Savings gives your Google Nest thermostat's temperature schedule a tune-up in the early winter and summer. By automatically making small changes, Seasonal Savings helps you use energy more efficiently. Over time, your Google Nest thermostat learns your temperature preferences, and Seasonal Savings uses this information to help you save more energy without compromising your comfort.

When Seasonal Savings is adjusting temperatures, the changes it makes are subtle, just a fraction of a degree each day. Over the course of the entire tune-up period, the changes typically add up to about 1°F. The biggest temperature adjustments usually happen while you're asleep or away, so you may never even notice the changes made by Seasonal Savings.

Like any good assistant, Seasonal Savings keeps you in control. If you don't like a temperature that it has set for you, you can simply change it - your Google Nest thermostat will learn the new temperature as well as your comfort preferences.

We work with your thermostat to save energy, but if you want to adjust the temperature on your setpoint, you can! Most setpoint adjustments will last two hours, then your Energy Efficiency Day schedule will resume. NOTE: If your thermostat is in schedule-off mode, your override will be in effect until we send the next update.

At this time, Sensi customers in the Peak Time Savings program are required to also participate in Energy Efficiency Days.

Peak Time Savings uses the weather, the unique characteristics of your home and your preferences to create a personalized thermostat schedule for the day that keeps you comfortable and helps you save. This may mean that you see some different setpoints on your Copeland Sensi.

When Peak Time Savings sees an opportunity to help you save even more, it may set your thermostat above or below your settings by just a few degrees. The goal is for this change to be small so that you stay comfortable.

If you become uncomfortable, the first step is to make sure your thermostat schedule is set to temperatures that you prefer. Setting your thermostat schedule will help us understand your preferences. You can change your schedule any time.

NOTE: Currently Energy Efficiency days occur only in the Summer months of May through September.
