Multifamily Program

Saving energy and money is easy for owners or managers of multifamily properties with Ameren Missouri's Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program. If your property contains three or more units, your building may receive a no-cost energy assessment and incentives for energy-saving building upgrades and products to help lower your residents' energy bills and reduce your maintenance costs. Read on for more information on how you can be saving with cash incentives from Ameren Missouri!

Ways to Save

An Ameren Missouri program representative can help determine your facility's energy-saving potential by performing a no-cost inspection and will provide a list of efficient products and services to optimize energy use. Energy-saving products installed and services provided at your facility may include:

HVAC Upgrades
Depending on your facility and existing equipment age and condition, our energy-saving experts may recommend HVAC system tune-ups and the replacement of components, including boilers, furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, thermostats, chillers and packaged rooftop units.
Efficient Showerheads and Faucet Aerators
More efficient faucet aerators and showerheads improve water use efficiency and reduce demand on water heaters, saving energy. This could help your tenants save up to 700 gallons of water per year, or the amount needed for 45 showers.
ENERGY STAR® Appliances
ENERGY STAR-certified appliances use between 10% and 40% less energy than standard models, leading to significant energy savings. In addition to the energy savings, new appliances can enhance tenant comfort and satisfaction, and reduce maintenance calls.
LED Lighting
Using 80% less energy and lasting up to 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs, LEDs generate more light using less power. Efficient lights and lighting controls may be installed in resident units and common areas, helping increase your property's efficiency while making spaces brighter and safer for residents.
Building Insulation
Building shell improvements, including installing building insulation, replacing inefficient windows and adding hot water pipe insulation, may reduce load on HVAC units and reducing energy costs.

How it Works

Participation is easy and our energy-saving experts will help you through every step of the process, including:
Inquiry
After we receive your interest in participating, our staff will verify your multifamily property's eligibility. If your property is eligible for the program, you may begin assessing your upgrade potential. If your residents meet income eligibility requirements, your facility may qualify for incentives under the CommunitySavers® Multifamily Program.
Assessment
Begin working with a contractor or your maintenance staff to identify the energy efficiency improvements you'd like to make to your facilities. If you're unsure where to start, an Ameren Missouri energy-saving expert may help by either referring you to a program Trade Ally or evaluating your facility's incentive-eligible upgrade options. Incentives are available for a wide range of energy-saving technologies and can provide low- or no-cost solutions to improving your property's energy efficiency. If you already know which equipment you'd like to install, our program representatives can help coordinate your incentive application without an assessment.
Approval
After receiving your recommended measures, you'll work with our Trade Allies or with your contractor of choice to refine the scope of your project and establish any co-pays for your recommended energy-efficient upgrades. View incentive amounts.
Installation
Upon your approval of the final scope of work, we will work with you and the selected Trade Ally or contractor to complete the upgrades to your facilities and help train your staff on proper maintenance.
Payment
Once installation is complete and final paperwork submitted, you'll receive an incentive check from Ameren Missouri, and you'll enjoy reduced energy costs each month thereafter!
Apartment Residents
Thank you for your interest in improving your home's energy efficiency! In order to install more efficient products in your unit, your property manager or owner will need to sign up on behalf of your building. Please talk with them about participating.
